Delilah Take Cover Concealer

Another of the most asked questions that comes to me is which concealer is best. I’ve kissed a lot of frogs in this regard and very rarely find a prince, but I might even promote this one to king. If you have older skin and creasing under and around the eyes, concealers can very often make things worse by emphasizing all the things you wanted to cover up in the first place. Concealers contain water and powder amongst other things and you’ll often find that once the water has evaporated from your skin you’re left with powdery residue sitting in your creases which are providing the perfect troughs for them. Delilah’s formula is good, with argan and sunflower oil making it more flexible and ‘stretchy’ on the skin.

The shades I have here are Ivory and Stone, with Ivory being the palest at the top. When I tested this, I was advised to press it into the skin rather than wipe or swipe, and that worked very well to make the product seamless with my skin. It didn’t settle into creases at all and provided a medium level of coverage on my dark circles. I think the pressing method is important, as is not applying too much. There’s only so much any concealer can do so don’t try to push the products beyond their limits – with concealer, it’s often about compromise.

I was also given this top tip! Test concealer in store in the little fleshy crease between your thumb and finger. It’s easy to then press it into skin that is like your under-eye skin and has a built in crease so you can see how it performs.

This is how Delilah Take Cover pressed in and it’s gone on very evenly – the product does claim to give radiance and I didn’t find that so at all, but other than that, no complaints here. And please ignore my chippy nails! Take Cover is £22 HERE and available in 4 shades – hopefully more to come because they don’t go dark enough to reflect who we are at present.
