Another star, another must have look! We were loving Rita Ora’s glitzy swag at the Grammys on Sunday. She is always so on trend, and yet makes each popular fad her own.
Rita is on a roll lately. Besides her singing career, the star and tastemaker is also set to be featured in the highly anticipated movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey. On her upcoming role in the film and what it has been like on set, Rita had this to say to press: “Oh, I was nervous because it was the first time I ever did a movie with words,” the start said recently. “But it was so nice. The director Sam, she was incredible, so it was all love.”
Rita glammed things up for this year’s Grammy Awards, leaving her sometimes racy, sometimes tomboy styles home in exchange for a simple dress and shoes designed by Lanvin along with jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz. While her outfit has come under fire by some for not being as daring as we’re used to seeing Rita rock things, her hair was an absolute hit among most, with not a curl out of place.
“This gorgeous, vintage Hollywood inspired hair is very stylish and modern because of the color,” celebrity hairstylist, Jenny Balding explained to us. “Having some re-growth and then really blonde throughout is what makes this look,” she said. We couldn’t agree more! We’re not mad at Rita’s roots at all!
Here’s how to get this ‘it girl’s’ look, courtesy of expert Jenny Balding:
– “Start of by creating a low side part on one side,” she instructed.
– “Next, blow-dry smooth with a large round brush for the perfect foundation.”
– Then follow up your dryer with a little more heat. “Use a medium sized curling iron,” Jenny said. “Use it vertically from mid length to the ends.”
– And the secret trick for making this style look as flawless as Rita’s? Keep things flat up front. “Keep the part and the crown area smooth and add no volume,” Balding noted.
Easy and done!
