Many women in the UK don’t know the best way to measure their busts. But luckily, a method has been revealed that will allow you to find out your correct size without even leaving the house.
If you’re someone who has been suffering from an ill-fitting bra for far too long, then here’s how to measure your bra size at home quickly and easily.
How to measure your bra size
All you’ll need is a non-padded bra and tape measure that measures in inches.
Then, you measure around the bottom of the bra band, directly under the bust making sure the tape is as snug as possible to get as accurate a reading as possible.
You can take the measurement in inches and then round it to the nearest inch.
And here’s the key part – if the size is an even number you add four and if it’s odd you add five and this will give you your back size.
For the boobs, take the tape measure and place it across your bust and measure in inches, rounding to the nearest inch.
Now you have your measurements you need to look at the different in inches between the two as this gives you your cup size.
A one inch difference makes you an A, two a B, three a C, four a D, five a DD, six an E and so on.
So if your back size is 34 inches and your bust size is 37 inches, that would make you a 34C.
How to tell if you’re wearing the wrong size bra
A lot of women wear the wrong size bra, and there are many tell-tale signs.
Things to look for include straps that keep falling down, wearing your bra right on the last hook on the back, your bust spills out over the top, sides or bottom, the underwire in the bra pokes into your skin, or if you suffer from neck and back pain because of your bust.
There are a whole host of ways to know if your bra is too small for you, but these are the main ones and you can use the bra calculator to make sure you find the correct size.
How do bra calculators work?
If you’re struggling with the maths, you can enter your measurements into an online bra size calculator and this will tell you the exact size you should be wearing.
There are a whole host of bra calculators available online which can help you find which size you are.
