Yes, I’m still living in Wakanda.
Yes, I enjoy it here and have no desire in leaving. Wakanda isn’t just a fictional place, y’all. It is mindset and I am still on a high from all things Black Panther when I got to show up at World Premiere. I feel bad for my grandkids. They won’t ever stop hearing about it.
Kids: What’s for dinner?
Me: Babies, did I ever tell y’all about the time I saw the Black Panther World Premiere?
Kids: Tell us a story, Grandma.
Me: Once upon a time, I went to the Black Panther World Premiere.
Kids: What time is it?
Me: Time for me to tell y’all about when I went to the Black Panther World Premiere.
You laugh but I’m serious. And while I’m not going to tell y’all how much money I spent I seeing Black Panther in theaters, I am happy to let you know that this iconic film is now on Blu-ray™. In honor of this momentous occasion, I celebrated with a Watch Party.
Esposo was out of town and I
didn’t want to share snacks wanted to enjoy this movie solo and so yes, your girl planned, hosted and attended her own Black Panther. You’re welcome to judge me if you like. I’m just happy to know that I can finally watch this movie over and over and over again without the folx at the movie theater saying, “Oh…you’re back.” for the umpteenth time.
They don’t know my life and my connection to Black Panther.
Tuh! How dare they.
I’ve got my cozy Black Panther blanket, my Black Panther snacks and happily played Black Panther Bingo while cracking up at the movie as if I hadn’t seen it before.
I can’t be the only one that does this.
Anyway…I hope by now you’ve got your DVD in hand and if not, know that you’ll be able to scoop it up whenever.
And anytime you’re just itching to hear a story from someone who was at the World Premiere, you know exactly where to find me.
