JoJo Fletcher first appeared on our television screens at the start of 2016 when she vied for the heart of Ben Higgins on ABC’s The Bachelor, and then again when she became the Bachelorette five months later.
In addition to introducing her to her fiance, Jordan Rogers, her time on the franchise also served as an education in beauty.
This week, the reality star stopped by the St. Ives Mixing Bar in New York City and revealed what she’s learned since stepping into the spotlight.
Gone shopping: JoJo Fletcher, 26, stopped by the St.Ives Mixing Bar in New York City this week. The Soho pop-up shop will be open until July 30
We’d give this look a rose: The former Bachelorette revealed how she achieves her go-to ‘glowy and fresh’ beauty looks (Hint: It includes Becca Cosmetics highlighter)
‘I didn’t get big into make-up until after college,’ JoJo told FEMAIL. ‘I look at photos of myself before [television] and after, and obviously now I feel like I look so much better and it’s all because of learning how to apply make-up.’
One of the 26-year-old’s biggest pre-The Bachelor mistakes, she said, was not doing her eyebrows. These days, she prefers a full yet groomed look.
A trick she likely picked up from the show’s make-up artist Gina Modica was how to achieve a natural, contoured look, without appearing caked in product.
When JoJo’s season of The Bachelorette aired, Gina told us, ‘As long as there are no hard lines, the make-up will always look pretty and soft on screen’.
While on both shows, concealer was JoJo’s best friend. ‘You never know when you’re going to break out. It’s high stress, you’re in a ton of different climates,’ she said.

Another aspect of her look that she’s mastered in recent years are her enviable and now signature waves.
‘I always straightened my hair growing up; I was never good at doing my hair,’ she said.
The keys to achieving the ultimate beachy waves, she’s discovered, are using the right size curling iron (she prefers a 1.25 or 1.5 inch), not making the curls too tight and loading up on texturizing spray.
JoJo has always been into skincare, however. ‘The St. Ives Apricot Scrub was probably the first product that I ever used,’ she said.
In addition to exfoliating, keeping her dry skin hydrated is a priority, especially while traveling.
Spending less than 48 hours in New York City this week, JoJo said she was relying on face mist, de-puffing eye masks and overnight gel masks to maintain her glowy complexion.
