Antoinette Beenders is Aveda’s Global Creative Director. Her job includes creating the imagery and iconography of the brand, from ads to products to hairstyles. “I think I’m a very lucky girl,” she says of her fun and rewarding career in hair care and beauty.

Antoinette first showed interest in hair styling when she saw the long, beautiful braids of actress and model Bo Derek. She would recreate the look on her friends as a child and still creates braided looks to this day for fashion shoots and hair shows.

One of Antoinette’s favorite parts of her job is coming up with new product ideas. Each of the products she develops is rooted in her clients’ needs. She will often be styling hair and think of a new product that could enhance her client’s appearance.

She defines Aveda as a luxury brand with an environmental conscious. She is proud of Aveda’s holistic approach of caring about hair, skin, body, and mind, as well as the beauty brand’s environmentally conscious efforts.
