Father Christmas at Dobbies
Is there a more festive job than being Father Christmas himself? Absolutely not.
Dobbie’s are renowned for creating a magical Christmas experience in-store and raising a lot of money for charitable causes.
If you fancy donning the special red suit and delivering the magic of Christmas for children visiting the store then this could be the job for you .
As Father Christmas, the successful applicant would work alongside a team of elves and be responsible for creating memorable visits by talking to children within the magical grottos.
The job advert states: “From the moment you step into the suit you will become Father Christmas himself. From regaling stories from the North Pole and asking children about their Christmas list, you’ll have the confidence to spread happiness and fulfil the imagination of children of all ages.”
Candidates need to have a “jolly nature” and be able to say “ho, ho, ho” with plenty of enthusiasm.
Sales assistant at Lush
You could leave work smelling like roses every single day with a Christmas job at Lush in Liverpool city centre.
The handmade cosmetics brand is looking for a stock assistant to join the team for three months over the seasonal period.
Paying £8.45 an hour, the role also involves paid training days where you’ll learn all about Lush’s products and ingredients.
There’s also a great team bonus scheme and staff discount on products and treatments (which could come in very handy in the run up to Christmas).
Lush Liverpool is one of the company’s biggest stores in the UK and seasonal stock assistants would help support the running and maintenance of the shop floor.
Royal Mail postal worker
The festive period is a very busy time of year for the Royal Mail and to help handle the increased volumes of mail they are recruiting casual workers to sort through it in their mail centres.
Work at the mail centre will involve unloading mail from vans, moving large volumes of post around the warehouse and sorting through parcels and letters.
A mail centre can process over a million items in a shift – so the Royal Mail needs extra staff to make that happen.

In the run up to the festive period Argos are preparing to be pretty busy.
The high street catalogue chain are advertising a seasonal role delivering orders to their customers.
You’ll need a full driving license and at least one years driving experience.
The salary starts from £6.64 per hour for 18-20 year-olds, £7.21 for 21-24 year-olds and £7.66 for people aged 25 and over.
Staff discount is available after three months and there may be an opportunity to stay on after Christmas.
Christmas elves at Dobbies
As well as recruiting Father Christmas, Dobbies is looking for elves to bring some Christmas magic to their Liverpool and Southport branches.
In addition to greeting children at the magical Christmas grotto, elves will be responsoble for entertaining family groups at breakfast and tea events in the garden centre restaurants.
Staff will need to regale visitors with stories from the North Pole and ask children about their Christmas lists.
Parcel Force delivery driver
Parcel Force is looking for delivery drivers to start in October and November on a six week assignment – with the potential to become a permanent employee.
Applicants don’t need any previous experience driving a light van – all you need is a full standard driving licence.

The Speke store is recruiting retail assistants for the busy Christmas period selling must-have toys to parents.
Applicants need one year of experience in retail.
Sales assistant at The Entertainer
The family toy chain is recruiting staff on contracts lasting until December 30.
Christmas retail assistants will be paid fortnightly throughout the festive period and stores offer a mixture of daytime and evening shifts.
Daytime staff will work primarily on the shop floor assisting customers and demonstrating toys, as well as helping on the till.
Evening staff will focus on refilling the shop and overseeing deliveries for the next day of trade.
Retail staff at H Samuel

H Samuel is looking for sales assistants to help their customers find the perfect Christmas presents for their loved ones.
